Stanley introduced the Odd Jobs tool in 1888 and produced it until 1933. It was very popular with house carpenters and is even reproduced today. Here is a type I Odd Jobs beside a modern reproduction from Garrett Wade.
It is a handy layout tool that has square edges, a bubble level, a 45 degree top, a removable scribe, and a removable tape measure.
I keep an Odd Jobs beside my work bench. It is handy for checking square inside cabinets and drawers. I think its compact size is why the carpenters liked it. They could carry this thing in their pocket all day without much trouble.
